You are invited to a free Open Dress rehearsal of Hearth’s new production- Knife Act by Jimmy Whiteaker – a play about Self Harm.
Through an entire classroom of characters, a teacher preparing for Ofsted, snippets of song and a dull detention, we see two people emerge in bright focus: a student struggling with his emotions – self injuring; a teacher struggling to keep going – and using food.
Is a classroom big enough to hold these truths? Will the student tell his secret?
Followed by wine and nibbles..
We hope you’ll stay afterwards to be participants in a rehearsal of our interactive Forum Theatre workshop in which we explore some of the issues of health and education raised by the play.
Wednesday February 14
7.30 - 9.00 at Friction Arts, Digbeth
