In 2021 Polly Wright, Artistic Director of the Hearth Centre, has been published once:

The use of drama and theatre in enhancing communication skills of psychiatry trainees: a pilot study.

This pilot study was designed to assess the acceptability, feasibility and cost-effectiveness of a specially designed workshop exploring the use of drama and theatre in enhancing the self-reported communication skills of psychiatry trainees.

In 2020 Polly Wright, Artistic Director of the Hearth Centre, was published three times:

Sue Beavan. Nurse, Partner, Dog lover. A monologue about NHS

Polly’s monologue was originally written for Women and Theatre’s 2014  piece - For the Past 30 years, which was aplay written on the theme of women and work for solo voices. Polly’s monologue, about a  senior nurse, who has gone through many phases of NHS re-structuring and still isn’t ready for retirement at 64, has now been included  in Women and Theatre ‘s  2020 publication in book and podcast form, called Women and Work. The piece was originally performed by Janice Connolly but in the 2020 podcast  Polly performs it herself. To find out more information  please click here

Collaboration for Impact: Co-creating a Workforce Development Toolkit Using an Arts-based Approach - related article

Polly has published an article about a project in which drama techniques were used to develop a workforce development toolkit for health professionals on the subject of the communication of risk to patients and clients. Following the successful roll out of the toolkit, Polly collaborated with fellow academics on an article about the methodology behind the approach.

The Palgrave Handbook of the History of Women on the Stage: Polly has written a chapter on the early years of Women and Theatre, with the two other founder members of the Company- Janice Connolly and Jo Broadwood which has been published in 2020 by the prestigious international academic publishers Palgrave. Turning the Page gives service users, staff, relatives and other readers insight into the experience of mental illness and the creative work it can inspire. It is published by Nine Arches Press, with support from Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health Foundation Trust.
