Representing Hodge Hill Co-Produced Arts Based Research With The Pakistani Community

This event is being hosted by Dr Qulsom Fazil, Dr Joanna Skelt (based at the University of Birmingham) and Dr Clare Barker (based at the Univeristy of Leeds). We will be sharing the findings of a 3 year research project co-producing arts based research with the Pakistani community in Hodgehill.  Come and see the artistic creations made by the community: an embroidered wall hanging; T-shirt creations; poems created both in Urdu (with translations) and in English and watch a play created and enacted by the community entitled “Alum Rocks”.

  • Come and see how the Pakistani community in Hodge Hill is representing itself through the arts.
  • Learn how through the arts we can better understand the needs of communities.
