Sat 9 & Sun 10 Jul, 10am - 4pm | £64 (£52) | 18+ | All Explore your creativity to the full by combining visual art and creative writing techniques to express your feelings and observations about the seasons. Taking inspiration from well-known authors, you will combine words and images to make a small folded “book”. Please click HERE for tickets. Who is this course for? This course is suitable for adults aged 18+ years. It is open to students of all levels. Previous experience in writing or visual art is not required as full instruction will be given. Those with previous experience may not have considered combining these art forms and will have the opportunity to try new approaches while refining their skills. The course is accessible for people of all abilities as a support worker or carer may assist. Carers must book a complimentary ticket if attending a course to provide support. The room is wheelchair accessible. Please contact us to discuss your specific needs. What will you learn on this course? On this two-day course you will learn how to explore your creativity in the medium of creative writing and drawing and painting. Taking your inspiration from well-known authors, you will develop your creative writing skills to weave a narrative which is set in a season of your choice. You will be taught how to build a narrative and ways to develop your descriptive skills. You will then move on to learn some simple visual arts techniques to combine words and images to make a small folded book. The course will be delivered through a combination of group work to develop ideas and demonstrate art techniques and individual project work with the tutors providing individual support and guidance as required. On completing this course you will have produced an original piece of narrative writing and created a small folded book incorporating some words and images emerging from your observations and narratives based on the seasons. Do you need to bring anything? Please wear old clothes or bring an apron for the art activities and bring a notebook and a pen. Are there any additional costs?
