In 2020, The HEARTH Centre received emergency funds for a 6 month project called Tales of Lockdown.
The phrase “unprecedented” has been used for the Coronavirus epidemic which we continue to live through- but for many people, the situation rings bells with very similar situations they have previously been through.
This project aimed to gather stories about living in times of national emergency. We collected anecdotes of past and present, when people’s personal freedoms were suddenly restricted. Examples of these situations included wars, the AIDS crisis, or fleeing to another country as a refugee.
Highlights from the project are now available to download as a FREE PDF anthology called 'Life in the Present Tense'.Click here to download a copy
